It’s unbelievably cold in Chicago right now. I hate this part of winter. It hurts to go outside. The ice age must have really sucked.
I made a point of being funny this week – because I fear I’ve been a bit too “poignant” (my brother says depressing) lately. Sorry. He thinks it’s a bait & switch to say I do comics and then repeatedly tell stories about people suffering and dying. I see it differently, and in the context of the memoir of my time as an AIDS nurse, the cartoons don’t seem so bleak. But as the cartoon of the week I know they do sometimes. That’s why you’ll all get an acknowledgement thank you in the book – for going through this with me… you know, “I’ve suffered for my art and now it’s your turn”, right?
I have no books or albums to talk about right now. But I am four lectures into the sixty of the “Great Ideas of Philosophy” course I got at the end-of-year sale from The Teaching Company. I’ll let you know how that goes, but so far it’s pretty incredible.
