This week in class we focused primarily on comics in medicine. One of the examples we used is Darryl Cunningham’s brilliant strip on the vaccination study that was recently debunked. You can read it here. The medical students reported that Darryl’s graphic narrative of the study and ensuing controversy was clearer and more readily understood than anything they had previously read on the topic. And they felt that the excellent graphics aided in that clarity. The BMJ is going to print this strip soon – I believe the first time a full comic has run in that publication. Way to go Darryl! Awesome work.
