Drawing Together #53 Seeing One Another Instructions

Welcome to your breakout room! Gather your supplies if you haven’t already.

Introduce yourselves if you don’t know one another.

I recommend you put your Zoom viewer on “Full screen” so you see the person you are drawing as large as possible.

Set a timer for 3 minutes.

The goal of this exercise is to focus on SEEING.

You are going to draw one another, blind contour, in permanent marker or pen, for three minutes with two rules.

  1. Do not lift your pen from the paper AND

  1. You cannot look down at what you are drawing.

Once you have finished, look down and enjoy your drawing. This part is essential. Enjoy your drawing.

Next, color your drawings with the medium(s) of your choice while you chat about the process. During that process, if you want to draw in some background flourishes in regular drawing, that’s fine.

Then we will return to our main room, where I will remain, should any issues come up, until the 15 minutes are up, and we can share some drawings and feedback.

My interview with Wendy Mac, and related links, is here.

Wendy’s GUT (grown up table) and more is here.
