We spent last weekend in NYC. Cindy had a Lambda board meeting to co-chair, but I tooled around the city on Saturday, exploring SoHo. I was out to find the Museum of Comic and Cartoon Art, which was great. Also found Dean &Deluca, headquarters of some great produce.
Pop International Galleries got found when I mistakenly thought it was Keith Haring’s Pop Shop. Wonderfully fun art in both places.
I also successfully went in search of a FDNY ambulance to photograph for a commission. Look for that in ‘recent art’ sometime soon.
We later walked halfway across the Brooklyn Bridge from our hotel, which was across the street from the World Trade Center site.
Sunday morning was the Five Borough Ride, which started in enormous waves up Church Street. The news reported that there were no major mishaps despite the rain on start and an estimated 10,000 riders.
Next entry: the new and improved MOMA. Also coming- a somewhat serious nutritional analysis of the diet I propose this week.
