My Graphic Medicine presentation at the American Society of Bioethics and Humanities (ASBH) conference in Minneapolis was very enthusiastically recieved. I was honored to co-present with my Chicago conference planning colleague Michael Green of Penn State Hershey College of Medicine.
Now my attention turns to next month’s trip to the UK.
Another Graphic Medicine Comics Forum post is up, “Of Comics and HIV” by Ian Williams. Ian’s goal in this post is to give some background and context for my talk in Leeds next month.
Also, a Huffington Post blog entry called, “Dealing with Illness? Read a Comic” discusses the Graphic Medicine movement and features Sarah Leavitt’s wonderful book Tangles. Sarah will be speaking with me both at the Leeds Graphic Medicine conference and at Laydeez do Comics in London the Monday after.
Tangles was also very deservedly just selected as one of the “Canada Reads” Top 40. Yay! Everyone in Canada – and everywhere else – should read this book.
