Alice and I had a close encounter with some deer this weekend. We saw a total of about nine on several occasions throughout the weekend, but only this once did we all interact.
Also, I finished this piece last week, but since it was a surprise gift, couldn’t post the image until the gift was opened. Introducing the newest members of the extended family, Beau and Albert (who were later joined by Elvis, not pictured) the alpacas. They live in Cedar, Michigan. Alice will be meeting them in July. Those should be some priceless photos.
MK, twice in the past couple of weeks I’ve encountered deer right here in the middle of Berkeley. A friend who works for the city says lots of complaints are coming in from areas where people have never seen deer before. I’m starting to think some are moving down from the hills because there are too darned many up there; they must be finding some nice overgrown backyards or quiet corners in local parks to hang out in. Strange. (Of course, the predators aren’t far behind — we’re hearing more frequent reports of mountain lion sightings in the hills, and I’ve seen a couple of coyotes roaming around during bike rides, too. Wild kingdom!)
Beau and Albert look beautiful online! The third member of the family has had his name changed to Barack, after our senator soon to be president ( or vice-president under Hillary).
Thanks for the wonderful gift,
Diane
