This week’s cartoon serves to introduce the notion of body mutilation prior to monumental birthdays. As I feel 40 just around the corner, I have a plan for this one too. I’ve just begun an eleven month training plan to run a marathon during the last summer of my 30’s.
My plan consists of increasing distance by 10% per week. I started at walking a mile. I’m stringing together several training plans by Hal Higdon, a fellow artist and runner. I’m trying to focus on injury avoidance, and have found some guidance from Danny and Katherine Dreyer’s notion of Chi Running and a Podcast (who knew?!) by an old guy named Allan Leigh who focuses on running injury free, which he says he’s been doing for over 30 years.
Stay tuned. I have a feeling 40 is going to be far more painful than turning 30.
GadgetMadness.com :: iPod nano Disection
So a Japanese site got a hold on a brand new iPod nano. So unlike the normal person who’d cherish and protect their prescious new toy, they decide to rip it apart to see what’s in it.

Check it out if you get time 🙂
you’ll be 40 before me. ha ha
Hmmm. Approaching 50 made it sort of urgent for me to try to train for and do Paris-Brest-Paris; extra incentive came from the fact it’s held only every four years, so I’d be 53 the next time it came around. I’m so glad I did it. Good luck with the training!
