After the last few book reports were presented, we began our workshop process. Based on the last assignment in Ivan Brunetti’s Cartooning: Philosophy & Practice, we are all working during class time on a four page memoir comic, one page to be finished each week. The hope in working together in class is that we are available to one another as resources, encouragement, sounding boards. Two students handed in their pages, the rest worked the whole time and needed to keep them for the rest of the week to keep working. Next week, page two.
Though we failed to make it long enough, and have since added more titles, students were encouraged to submit songs to a playlist that would run as we worked. It worked quite well. Not only are they awesome students, if this playlist is any indication, they have great taste in music. This was our first week’s playlist:
