I didn’t finish last week’s cartoon (My Shift Part Two) until today, so I posted the entire piece under Last Week’s Cartoon. That piece was an epic to produce and I’m glad to have it over before year end. Here’s hoping that this week I can wrap up a home commission and I’ll feel like I did a good job this year.
And looking forward to next year, I’d like to invite my readers to participate in the creative process. I’m looking for contributions to cartoons I plan to do in 2005 – two topics:
1. Do you know of any particularly great or horrible public restrooms in Chicago? Nominate them for the Chicago public bathroom hall of fame and hall of shame.
2. I’m looking for words no one uses anymore. The catch is that they can’t be unused today because they have taken on an offensive connotation or become politically uncool (like ‘crippled’) I’m talking about words like ‘diatetic’ – no one says diatetic anymore, and for no real reason other than it just fell out of fashion, like plaid dinner jackets. Those are the kinds of words I’m looking to rediscover. Any help is welcome.
Hope the holidays are going well for everyone. More next year.
